Baseball

We have some exciting news!  Community House League Baseball is back for the 2024 season and is geared to start in May.  This year COCL will be accepting online registrations starting in February.

Registration is now open – deadline is March 27th.

Please follow the below steps to register your child.

1. If you do not have a current COCL Community League Membership, please purchase one as you will need this to register for community ball.  Please see the following link:  https://communibee.ca/find-your-community/

2. Next, you will need to register your child for COCL community ball via the following NEZ link:  http://nezsports.com/baseball/baseball-program/  It is important you pay the registration fees for your child online.  If you choose a method of payment other than credit card, you will need to make arrangements to pay your fees in person at one of the NEZ in-house registration dates as COCL is not holding in-person registrations this year.  NEZ in-person registration details are below:

All registrants must come to one of the NEZ Central Registration dates at the NEZ Office, located at 12855 – 52 Street, Edmonton (in Kennedale Plaza):

    1. Saturday, February 24, 2024 – Noon to 2:00 pm

How to Register

Registering for our baseball season is an easy and straightforward process, designed to be welcoming for both new and returning players. To ensure a smooth experience, here’s a step-by-step guide to help you through:

  1. Start by creating your Spordle account: Create a family account at https://myaccount.spordle.com/login in the parent’s name.
  2. Add players/participants/coaches to the parents under the “Link a Member” section by searching by name and date of birth.
  3. Once your account is created and members added you can register the player online using the link on the Spordle Dashboard for Northeast Zone Baseball and select the appropriate registration.
  4. Payments can be completed online in the Spordle registration portal. However, if you choose to pay by Interac e-transfer, you must ensure your payment is sent to the NEZ account at nezsportstreasurer@gmail.com.  Please include player name and their program in the e-transfer message. (e.g.  John Brown, 11U baseball )
  5. Electronically sign and submit the mandatory waivers . Registration is not complete until all required documents and forms are submitted, and payment is received.

3. The last step is to ensure you sign-up for your volunteer commitment with your home community COCL and drop-off your $300 volunteer commitment cheque.  You must let NEZ know that you are wanting to sign-up your volunteer commitment with your home community league.  You can e-mail baseball@cocl.org if you are having any issues with this.  Signing up your volunteer commitment with COCL ensures your volunteer commitment time is used to support activities and projects in COCL.  Some of these projects include:

  • Building of community parks
  • Building of and maintenance of home community ice rinks
  • Community events such as “Movies in the Park” and “Summer Kick-off Parties”
  • Sports uniforms and equipment

You can sign-up online for your COCL Volunteer Commitment via the following link:  http://volunteersignup.org/78P3F  If there are no opportunities available, please e-mail secretary@cocl.org for assistance.  Once signed up please e-mail secretary@cocl.org to make arrangements to drop off your $300 volunteer cheque deposit to finalize your registration.  This cheque will be returned upon completion of your signed-up volunteer commitment.

If you have any questions or are interested in coaching a team for COCL, please e-mail baseball@cocl.org

See you on the Ball Field!
